Final Day- Swing Speed Secrets- Free Training

The Contrast Kickstart Technique

How to guarantee more swing speed

Over the last few days we've been talking a lot about driving distance/swing speed.

And for good reason.

Longer average driving distance is proven to be one of the fastest (if not THE fastest) ways to lower your scores...

This means consistently putting shorter clubs into your hands on your second shot resulting in more greens hit, and taking pressure off the rest of your game.

So instead of scrambling to save par, you’re draining more birdie putts… A far better use for your short game skills.

But there’s a big problem.

99.99% of golfers don’t know how to gain significant distance.

And they typically lose a lot of money and time searching for the answer.

They buy a new driver or grind away on the range… and then nothing happens.

They put in the effort, but don’t reap the rewards. Sound familiar?

The good news?

There’s a reason for all of this failure, and it has nothing to do with not being an amazing athlete, having the perfect swing or any of that.

It's all about knowing and understanding what small tweaks to make to your golf-specific workout program.

Listen, if you keep doing the same training and exercises in the exact same way, even if you experienced great results from them in the past, then you won't gain any more swing speed.

And no one is going to ever gain major driving distance without increasing their swing speed. I don’t care how expensive your new driver is, how pretty your swing is, or how many hours you put in on the range. You have no chance.

So many of us have fallen into this trap... I admit I used to be one of them!

But like I said, we’re all just 1 small tweak away from gaining 30, 50 and even 80+ yards in driving distance… If we know what to tweak.

That’s all it takes.

And you need to make sure you avoid the 3 fatal mistakes we talked about yesterday. (Here’s a quick recap)

Mistake #1: Thinking the same exercises would keep working.

Mistake #2: Thinking more is always better.

Mistake #3: Thinking that unless an exercise resembled the golf swing in some form it wasn't beneficial.

Instead of making those 3 mistakes, do what I did to break through speed or distance plateaus at every step of the way!

Why?

Remember that info about the Regional Qualifier for the Re/Max World Long Drive Championship I shared with you a couple days ago? The one where I basically tied for dead last?

Well, after figuring out the small tweaks I could make to my training, and putting them into practice… I decided to give it another try.

This time I won the Regional Qualifier with a drive that carried 400 yards!

But that’s not all…

I also set a new world record at the Finals of the Re/Max World Long Drive Championship with the longest drive ever hit in the history of the competition at the time… A 459 yard BOMB.

To put things into perspective:

My swing speed had increased from a max of 135mph… To a max of 164mph.

My average swing speed was now 156mph, and average ball speed was 220+mph.

My average drive had gone from around 330 to around 410 yards.

(Keep in mind that this was all done with equipment over a decade ago now!)

To prove it wasn't a fluke...

If you click on the image below, you will see where just a little over a year later I won one of the biggest LD Tour events against some of the biggest names in the world by nearly 30 yards per round!

Re/Max Winners Circle

You want to know how I was able to break through my plateaus, ultimately leading to significantly more swing speed and driving distance… Even after I had already “maxed out” as a fairly long hitter?

Two words... Contrast Training.

Here’s How You Break Through A Swing Speed Plateau

I call it “The Contrast Kickstart Technique.”

Chances are you've tried to do some kind of speed training by this point.

Especially if you have followed myself or my @strong.golfers Instagram account for any length of time.

You have most likely experienced some positive gains. For some of you, some VERY positive gains.

But eventually you hit a plateau…

Because no matter how good a workout program is designed, your body will eventually get used to it.

At that point, your progress hits a wall.

Well let me show you how to blast your way right through that wall to keep those swing speed gains climbing!

Here’s how the Contrast Kickstart works:

To keep gaining swing speed, you will need to perform basic exercises that are contrasting, but complementary… And in a specific order.

Contrast Kickstarts are utilized in between different level training programs:

For example, you would use them to break out of a plateau after completing a beginner speed training program and going into an intermediate program.

Or going from an intermediate to advanced... You get the idea.

It's designed to literally kickstart your swing speed progress again, and at the same time prime your swing for more speed gains with the next level program.

Contrast Kickstarts are usually performed with a heavy move, an explosive move and a golf swing move performed back to back to back.

Here’s a simple example:

After a thorough warm up…

First, perform a heavy squat for 3 reps…

Immediately followed by 5 reps of box jumps…

Immediately followed by 5 driver swings as fast as you can.

The weight on the squat doesn’t need to be crazy heavy, and should be easy for you to get all 3 reps.

The box jumps don’t need to be max height, just jump as explosively as you can. (You really don’t always even need the box... Jumps with knee tucks will also work).

The swings with your driver should be as fast as you can without sacrificing form.

You will want to rest after one giant set of these, and then do 1 to 2 more.

That’s it.

These contrasting movements are laid out in an order that forces your fast-twitch muscle fibers to engage harder, and also engage differently than before.

Your body will be forced to utilize more of these fibers when swinging, resulting in a spike in swing speed.

Of course, there are many combinations and different types of exercises that you can perform to immediately break through plateaus at various stages/levels of speed training.

You can even throw a 4th move into the mix that can help more advanced swing speed golfers.

To see improvements, Contrast Kickstarts don’t have to be the hardest thing in the world for you to do, and really shouldn’t.

But they do have to be challenging for you at your current fitness level.

Of course there are also “easier” versions of contrast training...

Here's a simple example:

After a thorough warm up…

Swing a broom for 5 swings…

Immediately followed by swinging an upside down driver for 5 swings…

Immediately followed by swinging your driver as fast as you can for 5 swings.

All back to back, and as fast as you can (without hurting yourself, of course!)

Different variations can be suited for doing at home, at a gym or at the golf course for best results for you.

Again, these are just two examples of the many ways you can use Contrast Kickstarts, but you get the overall idea.

The problem we have all had (or are currently experiencing) is not understanding what to do when we reach a swing speed plateau.

“More” isn’t usually the answer.

A specific technique that addresses our current situation is.

Of course, there is a lot more to increasing your swing speed than just this one strategy…

Once you’ve used this Contrast Kickstart Technique, there are still questions like:

• How do I progress to intermediate, advanced, pro level speeds and beyond?

• What other exercises will improve my fast-twitch muscle fibers?

• Are there any other techniques that can make things even easier for me?

• How often can I use a Contrast Kickstart?

• What exercises can I use in the middle of a round for an instant boost in swing speed?

• And so on...

If you want the answers to these questions and are ready to be taken by the hand and shown the exact process, I can help.

I’ve just put the finishing touches on a brand-new version of my most successful program that will walk you through the entire process.

It's a proven step-by-step system for maximally developing your swing speed, so that you can finally add 30, 50 and even 80+ yards to your drives.

It’s called the Elite Swing Speed System.

And I haven't even made it available to the public for over a year now.

It will be available for purchase starting tomorrow (5/12/2025) at 8am CST...

I’ll be sending you all the details in the morning…

Keep an eye out for that email…

See you tomorrow.
